Tales of Monkey Island - Chapter 4 - The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood
This is an adventure game in which players follow the exploits of the pirate Guybrush Threepwood as he defends himself in pirate court. The majority of gameplay involves interacting with pirates and other characters, exploring dockside locations, and following the irreverent storyline. The storyline is infused with one-liners and jokes that can sometimes be suggestive: "Step into my captain's quarters and let me ravish you silly"; "I'll be willing to share my booty, if you catch my drift"; "sexually ambiguous merpeople, a giant manatee, and your crazy ex-boyfriend—what do I get for my trouble?" In some scenes, a "Voodoo-Lady" character is depicted with exaggerated-sized breasts that jiggle, as she recounts a previous relationship—"Coronado was never touched by my voodoo . . . even though he sometimes begged to be." The game's violent content is also heavily sprinkled with humorous gags and dialogue; however, a few scenes have stronger impact: a character is stabbed through the chest in a sword duel, then says "kick his two-faced butt for me"; another character is stabbed in the stomach, but giggles since he has taken a special potion; and Guybrush uses a "cartoony" leg from a science lab to lure out a wild "Jungle Beast." Guybrush may also order "Scab-Island Slings," "Phuzzy Nostrils," and grog at a tavern; the last-mentioned drink—along with Guybrush's consumption of it—accounts for the Use of Alcohol descriptor. The expletive "hell" is used in anger once in the dialogue (e.g., "Go to hell, LeChuck!").
